Over the years, Dragon Ball has continued to shed more light on Saiyans and their culture, despite this legendary warrior race having been exterminated since the very first episode of the original Dragon Ball. Fans have learned a lot about the Saiyans, from their previous homeworlds of Planet Sadala and Planet Vegeta, to how they came to work under Frieza, as well as the identity of Goku's mother after years of waiting.

Still, there's so much about this ancient warrior race that's been left in the dark. As Dragon Ball Super progresses into new arcs that continue to push the remaining Saiyans to their limits, we hope some of our burning questions concerning the Saiyans as a whole, as well as specific Saiyans like Vegeta and Broly, are answered sooner rather than later.

10 What Exactly Destroyed Universe 7's Planet Sadala?

Anime Planet Sadala, Dragon Ball

Planet Sadala was stated to be the original homeworld of the Saiyans before they fled to Planet Plant after internal strife led to Sadala's destruction. But what exactly sparked contention amongst the Saiyans all those years ago, and what were the events leading up to their homeworld's final moments?

Originally, it was thought that an asteroid destroyed Planet Vegeta, but it was revealed to have been Frieza. There could very well be a secret explanation behind Planet Sadala's destruction as well.

9 How Did Goku Discover Super Saiyan 3?

Super Saiyan 3 Goku braces himself for Beerus in Dragon Ball Super

When Goku first confronted Majin Buu, he debuted Super Saiyan 3, a transformation that not only caught Buu off guard, but fans as well, who were originally led to believe that Super Saiyan 2 was the height of a Saiyan's power.

While fans were able to see the dire situations that prompted the first Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 transformations, it was implied that Goku tapped into Super Saiyan 3's power long before he stepped to Majin Buu, meaning that during his time in Otherworld, something must've happened that pushed him so hard that he shattered his limits once again.

8 Why Was Cumber Able To Bring Out Super Saiyan 3's Full Power?

Super Saiyan 3, while remaining one of Goku's strongest transformations, is perhaps his most unreliable. Because of its colossal stamina drain, he hasn't used it much, instead opting for Super Saiyan 2 or even Super Saiyan Blue. When Cumber made his appearance in Super Dragon Ball Heroes, he was able to bring out Super Saiyan 3's full power.

This enabled him to fight against some of the strongest warriors in Dragon Ball, among them being Toppo and Jiren. Does this mean that Goku may never be able to master his Super Saiyan 3 powers because he isn't an evil ancient Saiyan? Or is there more to why Cumber was able to bring out the full potential of Super Saiyan 3 when neither Goku nor Gotenks never figured out how?

7 Can They Have Children With Other Species Besides Humans?

After Frieza destroyed the Saiyans of Universe 7, Goku and Vegeta have played a direct role in spawning the new generation of their race by starting families with Earthling women, which they happened to look like. Tarble, Vegeta's younger brother, complicated this notion of what Saiyans were attracted to after introducing his wife, Gure, a petite alien that doesn't resemble an Earthling in the slightest.

The two weren't stated to have any children, but it was never revealed if this is by choice or due to the limits of biology. This left many fans wondering if Saiyans can only have children with Earthlings, or could they even reproduce with other sapient extraterrestrial races if they ever wanted to.

6 Which Saiyans Went To Hell/Heaven?

Bardock and King Vegeta Killed By Frieza

Despite becoming a "good guy", Vegeta was condemned to Hell after his fight with Majin Buu. This was because his final act of heroism just couldn't come close to making up for all of the lives he'd taken over the course of his life as a servant of Frieza. Most fans can't help but wonder if any other Saiyans suffered the same fate. Of course Saiyans like Raditz and Nappa will spend the rest of eternity in Hell, but there are other more complicated cases.

Bardock went on multiple missions, attacking foreign worlds alongside his Saiyan comrades, but at the last second, he had a change in heart, not only saving Goku's life but actively opposing Frieza. Was this enough to earn him a spot in Heaven? Even someone like Gine, a kindhearted Saiyan, used to belong to Bardock's Planet Elite Force. Was this enough to earn her a spot in Hell?

Despite nearly every Universe 7 Saiyan existing somewhere in Otherworld, neither Goku nor Vegeta have had significant interactions with them while they were dead, which only makes fans wonder where some of their favorite Saiyans may have ended up.

5 Who Is Vegeta's Mother?

Female Vegeta Mod From Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

Vegeta takes great pride in his royal Saiyan heritage, and as seen in many flashbacks, held huge amounts of respect for his father. It was peculiar, however, that King Vegeta was never shown with a queen by his side, not to mention the fact that Vegeta had never mentioned his mother.

Perhaps King Vegeta didn't even care for her, and was only interested in women as far as finding one to carry his unborn son. Still, fans would die to get a glimpse into Vegeta's maternal side.

4 Who Is Broly's Mother?

Kale As The Legendary Super Saiyan and Broly

As the Legendary Super Saiyan, Broly possessed Saiyan powers not seen for centuries, and even with their Super Saiyan God abilities, Goku and Vegeta both struggled against him. Dragon Ball Super: Broly gave fans a chance to meet Paragus, who wasn't anything to write home about, meaning that this power that Broly was born with most likely didn't come from his father's side.

His better traits probably came from his mother's side, but unfortunately, she's never even mentioned in the film.

3 Could Universe 7 Saiyans Master Super Saiyan Just As Easily If They Knew It Existed?

Cabba Teaching Kale and Caulifla How To Transform Into a Super Saiyan

Before Goku first transformed into a Super Saiyan on Namek, the transformation had been reduced to a legend. While Saiyans like Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan struggled to access the form, enduring painstaking training sessions before they could tap into this power at will, the form came naturally to Goten and Trunks, who saw the form used by the older members of their families from an early age. Likewise, Cabba was able to access the form after Vegeta made him aware of it, and he was then able to teach it to Kale and Caulifla, who mastered the transformation by following his simple instructions.

It's clear that Saiyans have a unique skill for learning on the fly, so if Vegeta, for instance, managed to revive someone like Nappa or even his father, would they be able to transform with ease if they followed his instructions on how to access the form? Or is there something inherently different about Universe 6 Saiyans that allowed them to access multiple Super Saiyan forms with little difficulty?

2 What Was Yamoshi Like?

Yamoshi Super Saiyan God Dragon Ball

Not much is known about Yamoshi, an ancient Saiyan who became the first Super Saiyan God. While he's never been fully depicted onscreen, he still commands a high degree of reverence within the Dragon Ball universe. Even if he actually did die so many centuries ago, it's safe to assume that he still exists somewhere in Otherworld.

As Dragon Ball Super progresses, fans would give almost anything to actually see what Yamoshi was like, and maybe see him go head to head with Goku, the current Super Saiyan God champion.

1 What Happened To The Two Saiyans Who Survived With Raditz, Vegeta, and Nappa?

Nappa with Two Other Unnamed Saiyans in Dragon Ball Super

Frieza's destruction of Planet Vegeta was a lot more tactful than it seemed. Before wiping out the Saiyans, he assigned Vegeta and an elite squad consisting of Nappa, Raditz, and two other adult Saiyans on a mission on a distant planet, ensuring their survival and continued servitude to him.

Given how powerful Nappa and Raditz were, it's reasonable to assume that the two unnamed Saiyans who were with them weren't pushovers themselves, which makes many fans question what exactly happened to them. Were they killed during a mission, or did they somehow manage to piss Vegeta off?
