There’s still a lot of mixed reception that surrounds Dragon Ball GT, Toei’s successor to Dragon Ball Z that largely crafts a narrative without major involvement from Akira Toriyama. Dragon Ball GT has become even less relevant after the release of Dragon Ball Super, which forges its own path forward and ignores the decisions made in Dragon Ball GT.

Dragon Ball GT isn’t without its merits and it features some rather creative villains, which involve both familiar faces from the past and radical new ideas. Goku is by far the focal point of Dragon Ball GT, but Vegeta still plays a crucial role. However, there are some major enemies Vegeta misses who would make for fantastic fights.

10 Baby-Infected Trunks Would Put Vegeta In A Complex Moral Dilemma

gohan gt

The introduction of Dragon Ball GT’s Baby is when the anime really starts to pick up and return to an emphasis on action. Baby infects plenty of people on Earth before he ultimately settles on Vegeta as his final host. Vegeta faces off against infected versions of Gohan and Goten before he becomes infected himself, but they don't carry the same weight as Vegeta’s own son. There is limited conflict between Baby Vegeta and Trunks, but it’s this opposite dynamic that’s more appealing where Vegeta is forced to fight against his son.

9 Rage Shenron’s Arrogance Is A Fitting Match For Vegeta’s Pride

Anime rage shenron

The seven Shadow Dragons dominate Dragon Ball GT’s final collection of episodes and it’s a creative premise to turn previously empty Dragon Ball wishes into villainous consequences. Vegeta gets to fight against Nuova Shenron, Syn Shenron, and Omega Shenron, but there are plenty that he doesn’t get a shot against. Rage Shenron has electric powers and is so convinced of his strength that he believes that he’s invincible. Super Saiyan 4 Goku, with the help of Pan, takes out Rage Shenron, but this is a more interesting battle for Vegeta, considering how much focus Goku and Pan receive.

8 Ledgic Is Dragon Ball GT’s First Big Threat

Anime Goku vs Ledgic

Dragon Ball GT kicks off in a controversial fashion where Pan, Trunks, and a de-aged Goku explore the galaxy to retrieve the Black Star Dragon Balls. Despite the lighter tone, they still face some decent threats.

Ledgic is the first decent enemy Goku encounters in Dragon Ball GT. Vegeta is not present in this journey, but an exciting start to the series would be if Goku learns that he’s too weak in his child body and Vegeta surprisingly swoops in to save the day. It would establish a whole new dynamic at the start of the series.

7 Eis Shenron Provides The Perfect Opportunity For Vegeta To Be The Hero

eis shenron

Eis Shenron is Nuova Shenron’s brother, which leads to some interesting drama between the Shadow Dragons. Eis Shenron has control over ice and at first he seems to hold his own against Super Saiyan 4 Goku when he temporarily blinds him. Goku perseveres, but his weakness in this moment offers an ideal chance for Vegeta to step up and protect Goku. It’s ultimately nice to see Goku use his long-forgotten Dragon Fist ability again on Eis Shenron, but it also could have been an opportunity for Vegeta to debut some new Super Saiyan 4 skill.

6 Vegeta Could Take Care Of Mutchy Mutchy While Goku Targets His Team

Anime Dragon Ball GT Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy Transformed

Cardinal Mutchy Mutchy is another eccentric enemy who occupies the earlier adventures of Dragon Ball GT. Mutchy Mutchy is interesting in the sense that his cloak and dagger routine reveals a chilling creature with an especially foreboding whip design. Mutchy Mutchy falls through the cracks of everything else that goes on and his ending is quite unceremonious. A better approach would be for Vegeta to show up and take on Mutchy Mutchy while Goku, Pan, and Trunks take on Rilldo and Luud at the same time. These smaller villains could all be faced in tandem and become more thrilling.

5 Vegeta Deserves His Revenge Against Frieza & His Entire Family

Anime Dragon Ball GT Cooler Escaped Villains

One of the more chaotic events in Dragon Ball GT is when the deceased Dr. Gero and Dr. Myuu work together to open the gates of hell to pull off their Super 17 scheme. Their actions result in a massive jailbreak of previously eliminated characters. The determined Frieza reappears, but his father King Cold, and brother Cooler can also be seen.

Vegeta has such history with Frieza that it’d be extremely cathartic for him to not just wipe out Frieza, but his whole family. Vegeta gets to take out Nappa a second time, which is entertaining, but not as fulfilling.

4 Luud Is A Mechanical God Whom Vegeta Would Love To Destroy

Anime Dragon Ball GT Luud Overheats Angry

Goku, Pan, and Trunks find themselves in some highly atypical misadventures during the earliest episodes of Dragon Ball GT, which culminates in them trapped with some unhinged and devout enemies, all of which hold Luud above everything else. Luud is a gigantic robot that has minions who plan to “revive” him through steady sacrifices. Vegeta never even meets Luud, but a false idol is exactly the type of obstacle that he likes to eliminate. He’d take particular glee in showing Luud’s followers that their beliefs are a lie and why someone like himself is more worthy of their praise.

3 Naturon Shenron’s Defeat By Vegeta Could Bring Him Closer To Pan

DBGT naturon shenron

Dragon Ball GT’s Naturon Shenron attacks with the lament of Earth and he technically begins as the weakest of the Shadow Dragons. Nautron is an enemy who’s all about absorption and after he successfully absorbs Pan he receives a major boost in power. This turns into a dilemma for Super Saiyan 4 Goku, but the beats of this fight are so familiar for these too. At this point, Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 4 form is just as resilient and it’d make for a powerful moment between Vegeta and Pan, who don’t really get to connect at all.

2 Vegeta Would Relish The Humbling Of The Powerful General Rilldo

Anime rilldo

General Rilldo is the commander of Planet M-2 and a valuable soldier for Dr. Myuu. Rilldo is a decent transitional villain between the two major halves of Dragon Ball GT. Rilldo is interesting in the sense that he's been transformed into a Machine Mutant, which equips him with some impressive mechanical transformations. The Rilldo fight is an early triumph for Goku, but if it were the first team effort between Goku and Vegeta in Dragon Ball GT it'd be much more memorable. Vegeta could show up just when Rilldo upgrades himself.

1 Oceanus Shenron Deserves A More Creative Showdown Than What She Receives

Oceanus Shenron

All of Dragon Ball GT’s Shadow Dragons attempt to embrace unique powers and concepts. Oceanus Shenron stands out since she’s the lone female villain out of the group, but she also has control over both water and wind elements, which makes her especially dangerous. A running trend in Dragon Ball GT is for the combination of Goku and Pan to defeat the Shadow Dragons. Oceanus Shenron isn't a particularly great example of this father-daughter teamwork. Vegeta would have such a different reaction to Oceanus Shenron’s subterfuge and defeat her with something that has more impact than a basic Kamehameha.
