Goku is one of the strongest characters in all of fiction. He's been able to deflect blasts that could turn planets into dust; he's taken on the most vigorous opponents that the multi-verse has to offer, and he has some of the most powerful techniques to ever be used by a warrior.

From his Kamehameha blast to his ability to transform into a Super Saiyan, Goku has a plethora of skills at his disposal. So, for this list, we're looking at the ten most potent moves that Goku has used, based on pure strength. Be they energy attacks or transformations; we'll be counting them on this list.

10 Solar Flare

Kicking off this list is one move that Goku "borrowed" from his pal, Tien Shinhan. By placing their hands close to the center of their face with the fingers spread toward their eyes, the user can summon light energy that can temporarily blind an opponent, allowing the user to escape or land a blow on the opponent.

While it's not one of Goku's most used attacks, he still does use this technique to get out of a jam, like when fighting against great ape Vegeta and Caulifla.

9 God Bind

When going up against Broly, Goku was able to use the power of his Super Saiyan God form. By using his energy and some hand motions, Goku can temporarily freeze his opponent in suspended animation, preventing them from moving.

While it only lasts a few seconds, it allowed Goku to communicate with Broly and try to calm him down. It doesn't work, but the technique is still a powerful move. It essentially turns Goku from a Saiyan Warrior to one that can use the force.

8 Instant Transmission

After Goku narrowly escaped the explosion of planet Namek, he lands on the planet Yardark. It's here he learns the Yardarkian teleportation technique, Instant Transmission.

By holding the Index and Middle Fingers on the glabella and sensing the energy of another person, Goku can teleport anywhere in mere seconds. While this ability is mostly used for defensive purposes, he has combined it with Kamehameha wave to attack an opponent at point-blank range.

7 Kaio-Ken

During his training with King Kai, Goku learned this powerful and deadly attack. The Kaio-Ken is a power amplifier that allows Goku to multiply his power by 20 times his full strength. However, the technique is a double edge sword, as it puts a strain on the body.

Because of this, Goku usually uses this ability in short bursts or as a last resort. After he becomes a Super Saiyan, Goku abandons the move in Dragon Ball Z and doesn't use it until he fought against Hit in the Tournament of Destroyers.

6 Meteor Combination

When going up against Piccolo in the 23rd Martial Arts Tournament, Goku was able to find an opening and attack the evil reincarnation of King Piccolo. He dashes towards him and launches a flurry of kicks and punches before Goku lands one right in the gut.

Goku then leaps into the air and launches his Kamehameha attack right at Piccolo. While Piccolo survived, Goku managed to land one heck of a blow on the green demon lord.

5 Kamehameha

You didn't think that we weren't going to add Goku's most iconic attack on this list, did you? Since Goku first learned it from Master Roshi, Goku's Kamehameha energy beam has helped him get out of several battles over the years.

From his fights against Vegeta, Cell, and Majin Buu, Goku has used this attack in just about every battle he's been apart of.

4 Dragon Fist

While not a canonical attack, Goku has used this technique in a plethora of video games and films. By thrusting his right fist forward, Goku can summon an energy dragon that looks a lot like Shenron. The dragon that dashes headfirst towards an opponent and bursts right through them.

It can even wrap its self around the enemy before exploding. Goku has mostly used this attack in GT, where he went up against Super 17 and the Shadow Dragons. It may not appear in the main series, but we sure do hope that this attack makes its way into the next installment of the Dragon Ball franchise.

3 Super Saiyan transformation

When a Saiyan is engulfed with so much anger, they will undergo this legendary transformation. The Super Saiyan transformation can gift its users with tremendous power beyond their wildest dreams. While the base Super Saiyan form is powerful, a Saiyan can push beyond those limits and achieve Super Saiyan 2 and 3.

If 5 Saiyan grants another Saiyan their power, they can then gain the Super Saiyan God form. Those who possess this divine transformation can then push themselves even further by becoming the Super Saiyan version of a Super Saiyan God, aka Super Saiyan Blue.

2 Spirit Bomb

Along with the Kaio-ken technique, Goku learned another powerful ability from King Kai: the Spirit Bomb. By gathering the energy from nearby life forms, Goku can create a large energy ball that grows larger with the more energy that is collected.

Because it requires a lot of time for Goku to gather enough power to create a bomb that is powerful enough to hurt an enemy, it is usually a last resort technique when there's nothing else left. Goku then launches the attack towards his foe before it eventually explodes right in their face. While Goku has only been able to kill one opponent with the attack, it inflected a lot of damage on foes like Vegeta and Frieza.

1 Ultra Instinct

Just when you think a Saiyan is down, they get back up 10x stronger than they were before. After hit by his own Spirit Bomb, Goku somehow manages to transform into this powerful form called "Ultra Instinct." Goku is now covered in a silver aura, and his abilities have increased tenfold. During his final fight with Jiren, Goku tapped further into this form and achieved "Mastered Ultra Instinct." While this makes Goku nearly a god, it comes with a high price.

Like with the Kaio-Ken, Goku can only use it for so long before the transformation takes a toll on his body. As of the recent chapters in the manga, Goku is still learning how to control the energy of Ultra Instinct and use if for more extended periods.
