The "God of Destruction" sounds like such a definitive title, implying that there could be only one of them in the entire universe. Well, such a title becomes complicated when there happen to be multiple gods in multiple universes as is the case in Dragon Ball Z. Between Universes 4 and 7, their Gods are Beerus and Quitela.

While Quitela's run on Dragon Ball Super was short-lived, there was enough evidence to suggest that his power level was at the very least always on par with that of Beerus. And we have seen more than enough evidence to understand how powerful Beerus can be. As to which of the two is actually stronger, that requires some in-depth examination of the two gods.

10 Who Is Beerus?

beerus

In this corner, we have Beerus, the God of Destruction from Universe 7. He's first introduced at the start of the Dragon Ball Super God of Destruction saga, but his origins date back as early as the DBZ episode, "Out from the Broken Sword," where he's referenced— though not by name— as the one who imprisoned Old Kai in the Z Sword years prior.

Personality-wise, he's a silly character and even a bit lazy, but when he does decide to get his hands dirty, he's capable of wiping out multiple planets within two seconds.

9 Who Is Quitela?

In the other corner there's Quitela, the God of Destruction over at Universe 4. We were first introduced to Quitela during the Tournament of Power saga, where both his and Beerus' universes were on the line.

Quitela is a lot like Beerus in that he's lazy and would rather sit around and eat or play video games than lift a finger. Then again, when you are the most powerful God of Destruction in your universe, you don't have to lift a finger.

8 Who Has Beerus Beaten?

Anime Dragon Ball Beerus Destroys Zamasu Hakai

There have been multiple instances where we have seen Beerus' acts of strength, and in those instances he showed no mercy and did not disappoint. Don't let the feline appearance fool you: This is the same creature who took on both Vegeta and Goku in the same fight without breaking a sweat.

In fact, we saw Beerus beat Goku in combat, something that few fighters can attest to. Let's also not forget that one of the strongest fighters in DBS lore, Zamasu, was taken out by Beerus in one fell swoop.

7 Who Has Quitela Beaten?

quitela talks to ganos

This one's hard to peg down because we never saw Quitela in one on one combat with anyone during his time on Dragon Ball Super. In fact, nobody so much as even speaks of his combat skills and, besides winning an arm-wrestling contest against Beerus, there is no confirmation of any battles that Quitela could have won (or lost).

Granted, the lack of evidence of Quitela's skill may even attest to the power that Quitela holds. Maybe that just means that anyone who fought Quitela never lived long enough to tell anybody about the experience— not before being destroyed by the God of Destruction.

6 Who Has Beaten Beerus?

To understand someone's true strength, it is just as important to understand who they lost to in battle as it is to understand who they've beaten. Few have beaten Beerus— or any God of Destruction, for that matter— and lived to tell the tale, but such a feat is not impossible.

If nothing else, we have seen Beerus' angel guide Whis knock the God of Destruction out with just a single smack to the back of the head, something Goku couldn't even do. While this doesn't necesarily mean that Whis is the stronger of the two, it's worth noting that Whis trained Beerus to be the fighter he is and it'd be difficult for Beerus to win a fight against the angel who trained him.

5 Who Has Beaten Quitela?

Quitela Dragon Ball Super

Once again, since we have never seen Quitela in an actual fight, this one is a little harder to peg down. Again, maybe the fact that it hasn't been revealed whose beaten Quitela means that he's won more fights than lost, but that's just an assumption.

The closest to a "loss" he's taken is when he's erased from existence when Universe 4 loses in the Tournament of Power. For what it's worth, right before being erased, he vowed to destroy everyone in the room. An empty promise, yes, but for being that confident, he might've known he had the power to do just that if given an extra second to do so.

4 Who Would Win In A Fight?

quitela spars with beerus

It's tough to have a definitive answer to this, as the closest the two Gods ever came to actually duking it out is when the Grand Priest broke them up right before either could land a punch.

At the very least, it is mentioned in passing that Beerus lost an arm-wrestling contest to Quitela. Obviously, imposing the better arm strength on someone is a little easier than beating them in a full-on battle, but in this instance at least, Quitela was strong enough to beat Beerus, even in a trivial contest.

3 Manga Vs. Anime

Seeing as this list is mostly referencing everything that happens in the Dragon Ball Super anime, it must be addressed that the whole arm-wrestling thing is never mentioned in the anime— it is exclusively mentioned in the manga.

While it would be easy to say that this simply does not count to bring up in the context of the anime, it also must be said that in some cases, added context from a manga can help enhance the anime watching experience. In that case, events and details from the manga are legitimate things to bring up in deciding which of the two is stronger in any form of media.

2 Zen Exhibition Match

Zen Exhibition Match between Beerus and Quitela

Although we never got an actual match between these two, it is worth bringing up that both were seen in action at the same time during the Zen Exhibition Match, where every God of Destruction from every universe dukes it out in an "every man for himself" type of battle royale.

The two gods of the hour were Quitela and Beerus, who take out everyone in sight. Beerus was cleaning house while Quitela, in his one onscreen action set piece, takes out Iwan. Quitela and Beerus wind up being the only two gods standing before being separated by the Grand Priest, but it suggests they are at more or less the same power level.

1 The Conclusion

Quitela laughs into the camera

Given all of the evidence that has been compiled and discussed here, it is now time to determine who is the stronger God between Quitela and Beerus— and, essentially, who is the strongest God of Destruction in the entire galaxy. All things considered, Quitela takes the title.

Both characters seem evenly matched, but a simple game of arm wrestling decided this one as it was the only time they ever had a direct, physical contest with each other. If Quitela was strong enough to keep Beerus' hand slammed down for the count, we would have to assume that he'd keep the cat God's face in the sand for just as long.
