Perhaps no other anime special attack is as iconic as the Kamehameha. As the first energy attack in all of Dragon Ball, it has influenced countless other special attacks in anime, all the while becoming a go-to pose for cosplayers and anime enthusiasts all over the world! It seems like nearly every character in Dragon Ball can pull this move off with ease, and with so many characters that have added the Kamehameha to their arsenal, it often becomes difficult to keep track of who knows this move and how they learned it.

This list includes every character who has performed the Kamehameha across every Dragon Ball series (GT and Super included), and for simplicity's sake, fused characters and characters who appear only in videogames have been left out.

14 Grandpa Gohan

Grandpa Gohan Uses A Kamehameha

As one of Master Roshi's first students, it's no surprise that Grandpa Gohan mastered his signature technique under his guidance.

He debuted this attack during his fight with Goku at Fortuneteller Baba's tournament, channeling so much energy into the blast that it would've vaporized Goku had it hit him.

13 Yamcha

Yamcha formerly became a student of Roshi's after Fortuneteller Baba's tournament. This was where he undoubtedly learned the Kamehameha, putting it to use during his fight with Tien at the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament.

The attack proved unsuccessful, but fans were surprised to see Yamcha pull it off just as well as Goku and Krillin could.

12 Krillin

Krillin Fires A Kamehameha

While Goku learned the Kamehameha long before he officially became a student of Roshi's, Krillin learned the move through training with the Turtle Hermit, successfully using it to turn the tide of battle during his match with Chiaotzu at the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament.

Roshi mentioned that he hadn't mastered it properly before using it for the first time, which only made the fact that he was able to pull it off at all a lot more impressive.

11 Master Roshi

Many fighters have added their own unique flair to the Kamehameha, but fans often forget that it was Master Roshi who created this killer technique in the first place. It took him 50 years to learn how to shoot such an explosive burst of energy from his palms, and after gaining the ability to continue living for centuries after consuming the Paradise Herb before the events of the series, it's evident that he could've spent another 50 years perfecting this move if he wanted to.

10 Tien

Unlike the other characters listed above, Tien wasn't a student of the Turtle School, but during his fight with Master Roshi at the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, he was able to pull off a Kamehameha that managed to impress Roshi himself. This was due to the fact that Tien had seen the technique utilized many times during the tournament. He not only saw Krillin execute a Kamehameha against Chiaotzu, but he even managed to deflect one that Yamcha launched at him!

It's no surprise that a warrior with three eyes could learn techniques that he only seen used a handful of times.

9 Goku

Goku first learned the Kamehameha after watching Master Roshi utilize the technique to extinguish the flames of Fire Mountain. Without any formal instruction at all, the young Saiyan was able to fire a Kamehameha that was strong enough to cripple a small car.

Now, his Kamehameha is strong enough to destroy planets, showing that a technique is just as strong as its wielder.

8 Goku Black

Anime Goku Black's Kamehameha

After stealing Goku's body, Zamasu had access to many of Goku's techniques, like his Instant Transmission and Kamehameha. Goku Black inherited Goku's innate sense of mimicry after taking over his body, and although he was never shown practicing Goku's techniques before using them in battle, Goku's Saiyan body most likely retained memories of Goku's fighting style and techniques.

Executing these techniques was most likely instinctual to him, since they'd already become second nature to Goku at the time his body was hijacked by the evil Kaioshin.

7 Gohan

Gohan added the Kamehameha to his arsenal after training with Goku in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber in preparation for the Cell Games. He first used an extremely powerful Kamehameha to deflect Perfect Cell's blast shortly after becoming a Super Saiyan 2.

As the series progressed, Gohan slowly began to use the Kamehameha more and more, and where it stands now in Super, he can easily fire one that's just as good as his old man's.

6 Goten

Despite knowing how to turn into a Super Saiyan before he could even fly, Goten didn't really understand how to harness his energy to its fullest potential.

After training with Gohan in preparation for the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, he learned how to fire a Kamehameha, albeit he had no control of the blast, making it evident that Gohan wasn't as great of a teacher as fans would've thought.

5 Trunks

Despite Vegeta not being able to utilize the Kamehameha, Trunks (excluding his future counterpart) has demonstrated full mastery over the technique. This most likely comes from his close friendship with Goten, who probably taught him the move one day when the two were sparring. In Dragon Ball GT, Trunks was shown to use the move just as easily as Goku, which makes sense, given that he's constantly around so many warriors who can use the move, not to mention that it's apparently one of the easiest techniques in the franchise to mimic.

Needless to say, fans worldwide were shocked when Trunks debuted the attack in the Dragon Ball Z film Bio-Broly, a movie that, unlike Trunks' use of the Kamehameha, many fans argue was a complete mistake.

4 Cell

Perfect Cell fires off a Kamehameha in Dragon Ball Z Kai

As the amalgamation of most of the Z-Fighters (and even their enemies like Frieza and King Cold), it was only natural that Cell possessed many of their signature techniques. His Solar Kamehameha was the move he planned to use to destroy the Earth (along with the rest of the solar system). His mastery of this technique is purely instinctual, and is inherited from Goku's cells.

Likewise, the Cell Juniors are able to utilize the technique without any difficulty at all, being direct products of Cell himself.

3 Majin Buu

Every single one of Majin Buu's forms have demonstrated mastery with the Kamehameha. Majin Buu learned the move just by mimicking Goku after seeing the move performed once, and after absorbing Majin Buu, Super Buu gained access to the technique himself, not to mention the fact that after absorbing Gotenks and Gohan, he began to use the move more frequently in battle. Kid Buu learned the move just by mimicking Goku as well during their battle on the Sacred World of Kais, showing just how much Majins love this attack!

In Xenoverse 2, there's even a special variation of the Kamehameha just for Majins!

2 Uub

As Goku's first official student, it's no surprise that Uub would have a few of Goku's techniques under his belt. The young warrior learned how to fire a Kamehameha somewhere in the 5 years that he and Goku spent training after leaving the 28th World Martial Arts Tournament at the end of Dragon Ball Z, ensuring that the Turtle School's signature technique lives on within a new generation of warriors.

1 Pan

While Goku nor Gohan never really taught Pan how to fight, she comes from a family of martial artists, so it was only natural that she'd know how to hold her own in battle. After traveling the galaxy with Trunks and Goku, she most likely picked up on how to properly fire a Kamehameha after seeing it used several times with her own two eyes.

Her use of the move played a key role in Oceanus Shenron's demise, but more importantly, it showed that the apple doesn't fall far at all from the Goku family tree.
