The Dragon Ball franchise has introduced a lot of powerful heroes and villains, especially following the revelation of Goku's Saiyan heritage in Dragon Ball Z. However, not every one of them has gotten the respect they deserve, with the series often wasting their potential. In this video, we're going to go into ten Dragon Ball franchise characters who haven't been able to live up to their potential.

We're starting the video off with Frieza, who was the most fearsome villain the Z-Fighters had ever faced. The villain, who proved himself capable of destroying planets, is no longer as harrowing as when he first appeared. While he's gotten the Golden Frieza power-up and there's been some attempt to power him up, the villain just hasn't been able to live up to his potential and gets absolutely decimated whenever he faces off against the Z-Fighter.

There are definitely more fighters on this list than just Frieza, and we're going to touch on some potentially powerful heroes like Gohan, Piccolo, Tien and many, many more. Check out the video below for even more Dragon Ball franchise characters whose potential was wasted.

Dragon Ball Super was the most recent animated installment in the franchise, not counting the original net animation Super Dragon Ball Heroes. Although it's unclear just when -- or if -- the series will return, the Dragon Ball franchise is popular, so it's unlikely to stay gone for long. The manga currently expands on the ending of Dragon Ball Super, taking Goku and Vegeta into space to fight against the energy-absorbing Moro. However, it's unclear if when the anime returns it will actually pull from that plotline.
