Moro is a warlock who serves as the main antagonist of the Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc of the Dragon Ball Super manga. About 10 million years ago, Moro threatened the entirety of Universe 7 until his magic was finally sealed away.

After having broken free, Moro defeated even the likes of Goku and Vegeta, who failed to put up any sort of a fight against him. With tremendous magical powers that differ from Dragon Ball's conventional ki energy, not to mention the ability to grow stronger by eating planets, Moro comes across as seemingly impossible to defeat. That being said, there are a few powerful individuals who can manage this feat, as well as others who would valiantly fail to conquer Moro.

Updated by Daniel Kurland on July 28th, 2021:  Moro is one of the most exciting Dragon Ball villains to come along in a while, but he still contains similarities to past antagonists like Majin Buu and even Cell. Moro the Planet-Eater’s reputation certainly precedes himself, which ultimately makes him a more compelling villain for Dragon Ball Super’s best to tackle.

15 Can’t Beat: Kefla Combines Universe 6’s Best Into A True Powerhouse

Anime Kefla Prepares Her Omega Blaster

One of the most exciting developments in Dragon Ball Super is not only the addition of many new universes, but also that Universe 6 houses some extra Saiyans to add into the mix. The Saiyans of Universe 6 have had a considerably more peaceful existence than those of Universe 7 and it’s helped them grow into commendable fighters. Caulifla and Kale pool their powers together to become the fused fighter, Kefla. Kefla is one of the strongest participants in the Tournament of Power battle royale. She’s able to contend with both Goku and Jiren, but beating Moro is a whole other story.

14 Can Beat: Granolah Uses Special Dragon Balls To Become The Universe’s Strongest

Granolah, The Last Surviving Member Of The Cerealian race

Dragon Ball Super’s anime triumphantly concludes with the sprawling Tournament of Power, but Super’s manga has gone on to not only introduce Moro, but also the major threat that follows him, Granolah. Granolah holds an unhealthy grudge towards Frieza and the entire Saiyan race and he channels this aggression through a precarious pact with Toronbo, the guardian of Planet Cereal’s Dragon Balls. Granola wishes to become the strongest in the universe, which he seems to accomplish. He currently surpasses both Goku and Vegeta, which means that Moro would also crumble under his power.

13 Can’t Beat: Jiren Is The Pride Of Universe 11 And Built For Destruction

Anime Dragon Ball Super Jiren Full Power

The Tournament of Power multiversal competition takes up a large portion of Dragon Ball Super. This tournament introduces dozens of new obstacles for Goku and company, but Jiren quickly becomes the dominant villain and main competition for Universe 7.

Jiren is a representative of Universe 11’s prestigious Pride Troopers and even though he’s not a God of Destruction himself, he seems to at least possess comparable power. Goku has to access a temperamental Ultra Instinct transformation in order to survive against Jiren, but considering that’s still not enough to beat Moro it’s safe to say that this Universe 11 juggernaut would also fail against the deadly Planet-Eater.

12 Can Beat: Omni-King, Zeno, Can Take Out The Entire Universe, Moro Included

Both Zenos erase existence in Dragon Ball Super

An occasional issue that Dragon Ball has to consider is that its characters just become too powerful to fail. Increasing tiers of celestial deities have been introduced over time and the most powerful being at the top of all 12 universes is Zeno, the Omni-King. Gods of Destruction can erase unscrupulous individuals with their Hakai skill, but Zeno can wipe out an entire universe with the same procedure. Zeno seems precocious and juvenile, which would also likely catch Moro off guard. The moment he attempts an attack he’d find himself absent from existence.

11 Can’t Beat: Merus Holds His Own Against Moro Yet Can’t Keep Up

Merus from Dragon Ball Super

Sometimes when it comes to the power scaling of characters there are encounters that need to become hypotheticals, but Merus is actually a major player during Moro’s destructive attacks. Merus is a legendary member of the Galactic Patrol and it’s revealed that he also has a past as an Angel. Merus is indispensable for the help that he gives Goku regarding mastery over Ultra Instinct, but he himself still pales in strength to Moro. Merus puts up a good fight, but his own erasure occurs once he improperly intervenes with the flow of the universe.

10 Can Beat: Goku Is Actually The One Who Summons The Strength To Surpass Moro

Goku is a Saiyan from Universe 7 and the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball series. His powers seem to know no bounds. Goku recently clashed against Moro, and although he lost initially, he did much better in the second round.

In his Mastered Ultra Instinct form, Goku would certainly be strong enough to defeat Moro. For now, he hasn't attained the mastered form of the art, however, by the end of the arc, it is highly likely that he will have.

9 Can't Beat: Gohan's Lapse In Fighting Spirit Means He's No Match For Moro

Gohan is the son of Goku and a half-Saiyan from Universe 7's Earth. Although Gohan begins Dragon Ball with terrific battle potential, it's withered away over the years, especially after he stops regularly training. That's not to say Gohan is weak right now. He was capable of fighting against several huge threats in the Moro arc, however, taking on Moro is a different story altogether. Gohan doesn't have what it takes to defeat him.

8 Can Beat: Vegeta's Improved Skills And Unique Trajectory Prime Him To Destroy Moro

Vegeta is another Saiyan who lives on Earth and defends it from all incoming threats. Although he is plenty powerful already, he wants to get stronger and surpass Goku. Like Goku, he clashed against Moro once and lost the battle easily. Having trained hard to attain powers to defeat Moro, it isn't too farfetched to assume that Vegeta now holds the powers to defeat him.

7 Can't Beat: Piccolo Excels As A Namekian, But It's Not Enough For The Planet-Eater

Piccolo is a Namekian and one of the powerful Z warriors in the Dragon Ball series. Although Piccolo is strong enough to take on the average foes standing in his path, he isn't powerful enough to take on the likes of Moro yet. In the recent chapters, Piccolo struggled against some of Moro's underlings, even with Gohan at his side. Standing up to Moro is practically impossible for him.

6 Can Beat: Gogeta Features The Best Traits Of Two Of The Strongest Saiyans

Gogeta is the Metamoran fusion of Goku and Vegeta, and one of the strongest characters in the entire Dragon Ball series. As things stand now, Goku is strong enough to fight against Moro on his own and fare well.

Fusing with Vegeta and utilizing the Ultra Instinct Sign technique would mean that Moro would definitely crumble under Gogeta's combined strength.  It goes without saying that Moro doesn't stand a chance and would be thoroughly impressed by this destructive fusion.

5 Can't Beat: Hit's Legendary Assassin Skills Aren't Enough For Moro's Magic

Vegeta vs Hit Dragon Ball

Hit is an assassin from Universe 6, known to be one of the strongest characters in the series. Hit's specialty is his ability to skip through time. His powers also let him cage a person in time, however, there are limitations to his ability. As seen during the Tournament of Power, Hit's powers don't seem to work against someone much stronger than him. Whether he'll be able to stand up to Moro or not remains to be seen.

4 Can Beat: Beerus And His God Of Destruction Skills Assert His Dominance Over Moro

Beerus erases Zamasu in Dragon Ball Super

Beerus is the God of Destruction of Universe 7 and quite easily one the strongest in Dragon Ball. Being a God of Destruction, Beerus possesses tremendous strength that can only be matched by a handful of characters in the series. Furthermore, he seems to be skilled in the art of Ultra Instinct as well, and has tricks such as Hakai up his sleeve, meaning Moro stands absolutely no chance against him.

3 Can't Beat: Dyspo's Speed And Attitude Would Only Bring Out Moro's Best

One of the fastest characters in the entire Dragon Ball series, Dyspo is a Pride Trooper from Universe 11. He showed the fans what he was capable of during the Tournament of Power arc of the series. Strong as he is, Dyspo is still very reliant on his speed. Although it is possible for him to dodge Moro's Ki drain, he can't deliver fatal blows, meaning he'll eventually tire and lose.

2 Can Beat: Whis And His Angel Abilities Can Overwhelm Moro, But At A Major Price

Whis smiling and pointing

Whis is the Angel attendant of Beerus, the Hakaishin of Universe 7. His powers can't be matched by most characters in the series and only the Grand Priest and Zeno are known to be stronger than him. Whis is a master of Ultra Instinct, and along with that, he has other abilities that make him even more dangerous than a God of Destruction. For him, beating Moro is practically child's play.

1 Can't Beat: The Success That Toppo Brings The Pride Troopers Doesn't Translate To Moro

Toppo from Dragon Ball Super prepares to punch someone.

Toppo is a Pride Trooper from Universe 11, just like Dyspo. He is one of the candidates for the God of Destruction spot of his Universe. In the Tournament of Power, fans got to see what his fearsome ability could do when he clashed against Vegeta. Although Toppo is powerful, he appears to be inferior to Moro in terms of both power and skill. For him, defeating Moro doesn't seem to be possible.
