After a long hiatus following Dragon Ball GT's conclusion, fans of one of anime's most popular franchises waited years for new content (other than video games). The movie Battle of Gods ushered in a new era for the franchise, introducing fans to the concept of multiple universes, as well as a new divine hierarchy that included figures known as Gods of Destruction, who essentially oversaw the destruction of entire worlds in their respective universes.

Being that he's the God of Destruction for Universe 7, where the main story takes place, it makes sense that fans would witness Beerus in action more than any of his colleagues, although he's still largely a mystery. There's so much that hasn't yet been revealed about him, but hopefully these next ten questions will be answered as Dragon Ball continues to progress.

10 How Old Is He?

As a God of Destruction, Beerus has been alive for centuries, even sleeping for decades at a time, and yet it remains a mystery how old he really is. Has he been around for as long as Majin Buu, or was he born much later than that? Time will tell if Dragon Ball Super addresses Beerus' age.

9 How Exactly Did He Become The God Of Destruction?

In Dragon Ball Super, it's still unclear as to how exactly someone becomes a God of Destruction. Whis hinted at the possibility of Vegeta potentially becoming the God of Destruction should anything happen to Beerus, and even with Universe 11's God of Destruction, Belmod, was alive & well, Toppo had been trained to take over his role– meaning that Gods of Destruction aren't born but made through intense training that enables them to harness Energy of Destruction.

But how did this process look for Beerus? Was he referred to this position by the previous God of Destruction? Or was he always an extremely powerful man and forced into it for that very reason?

8 What Was His Life Like Before He Was A God Of Destruction?

As the previous entry stated, Gods of Destruction aren't born, but made. This means that Beerus had a whole life before he assumed this role, but viewers are left in the dark as to what it may have looked like.

Fans know that Champa is his twin brother, but did they even live and grow up together? Did they have any other siblings? Did Beerus have romantic aspirations, a job? Or did he just sit around and sleep the days away like he does now?

7 How Did He Become So Strong?

Every God of Destruction is a force to be reckoned with, but as shown in the series, this level of strength doesn't just come overnight. It normally takes years of training and a lifetime of battles to get so strong, so how did Beerus become so powerful on his own?

Is his species just naturally gifted with immense strength, or was he forced to endure years of hardship to get to where he is today?

6 Is He The Strongest God Of Destruction?

Dragon Ball Super Gods of Destruction

In Dragon Ball Super's manga, the Gods of Destruction were permitted to fight one another during the Zen Exhibition Match just before the Tournament of Power got underway, and while there was no real winner, Beerus did a pretty good job, successfully fending off all of the other Gods of Destruction while matching Quitela blow for blow before the Grand Priest called off the fight before one of them gave in.

It's clear that Beerus is one of the stronger Gods of Destruction, but no one can say for sure whether or not he's the strongest of them all.

5 Are Him And Dyspo Of The Same Species?

The introduction of Universe 11's Dyspo got fans interested once again in Beerus' homeworld. The anime even went as far as to make comparisons between Beerus and Dyspo's similar physical appearances, and never confirmed nor denied that the two weren't part of the same species.

While Beerus looks more like a cat and Dyspo like a rabbit, both are of a similar color and build, not to mention their ears and auras are pretty similar. And while Dyspo isn't nearly as strong as Beerus, he could definitely become a real threat with the right amount of training. The similarities between them are so uncanny that it's hard to believe there isn't a deeper connection between the two.

4 Is He Even From Universe 7?

It's easy to assume that Gods of Destruction oversee the universes that they were born into, but Champa and Beerus are proof that this isn't the case. Given that they're twin brothers, they had to have been born at the same time and on the same planet, to the same parents.

This means that both are a product of one universe, whether it be Universe 6, Universe 7, or a different universe entirely, and that means that one or both of these Gods of Destruction are servicing a universe that they weren't originally born into.

3 Will Beerus Undergo A Transformation Once He Masters Ultra Instinct?

So far, Goku has been the only mortal fans have seen master Ultra Instinct. Like any other transformation that Goku receives, his hair and eyes changed color; in this case, both turned white. Whis stated that Beerus hasn't yet mastered Ultra Instinct completely, but when he does, will he also undergo some sort of physical change?

Since he's hairless, fans won't have to worry his purple skin turning white, but it's likely that his aura may change to resemble Goku's when he took that state, along with his eye color. Or, will the only indicator of him having mastered this technique just be in his altered fighting style?

2 Can He Defeat Gogeta, Ultra Instinct Goku, Or Jiren?

There have been many debates as to which Dragon Ball characters could defeat Beerus in a fight. Due to how powerful he is, there aren't many besides Angels and other Gods of Destruction who could provide him with a challenge, meaning that most mortals are completely outclassed by him.

But as the mortals of the Dragon Ball multiverse grown stronger and stronger, it's become increasingly difficult to say whether or not Beerus could defeat mortals Gogeta, Ultra Instinct Goku, or even Jiren. Given how powerful each one of these fighters is, it's safe to say that Beerus' fight against each of them wouldn't be a walk in the park, and the battle could end in anyone's favor.

1 How Does He Fight In A Serious Battle?

Beerus channels an angry aura in Dragon Ball Super

Fans have seen Beerus in countless battles; he not only took on Goku several times, but Vegeta as well, along with some other members of the Dragon Team. Combat is clearly nothing new to him. Still, it is rather disappointing that he's so powerful that most fights involving him usually don't last very long, with the God of Destruction exerting minimal each time.

Other Gods of Destruction would be the perfect challenge for him, but since he's pretty much prohibited from fighting them, it's unlikely that fans will see him in a serious fight anytime soon. Even so, fans can't help but wonder what special attacks he'd bring out for an opponent who's able to push him past his own limits.
