The Eye of Agamotto is the heirloom of the Sorcerer Supreme. It has been passed down through the generations since Agamotto himself was the Sorcerer Supreme, and it is one of the most powerful weapons in Doctor Strange's arsenal. It is one of three Eyes that Agamotto created, and it grants Stephen Strange incredible power and magical prowess.

The Amulet of Anubis, on the other hand, is one of the most powerful weapons in the arsenal of Doctor Fate, the champion of Nabu, a Lord of Order. Nabu inherited it from the god Anubis (after seizing it from an evil priest), and it is one of the things that makes Doctor Fate DC Comics' most powerful sorcerer. Here are five reasons that the Eye of Agamotto and the Amulet of Anubis is more powerful than the other.

10 AGAMOTTO: Can't Be Used For Evil

While this rule has been broken several times, nominally, the Eye of Agamotto is only supposed to function for the Sorcerer Supreme and only be used for good. It is an artifact of white magic and cannot be used for the dark arts.

This means that one cannot use the Eye of Agamotto against Doctor Strange, and he need not fear the artifact for it is his and his alone.

9 ANUBIS: Grants Mastery Of Magic

While the Eye of Agamotto is granted to the Sorcerer Supreme, the individual who has already mastered the mystic arts to an extraordinary degree, the Amulet of Anubis itself grants proficiency in magic. Usually, the one wielding it has dabbled in sorcery prior to attaining the Amulet, but the Amulet of Anubis, along with the Helm of Fate, can instantly make its wielder the most powerful sorcerer in DC Comics.

It can take someone practicing parlor tricks and turn them into a virtuoso of the supernatural realms.

8 AGAMOTTO: Weakens Dark Entities

In addition to being unusable to those with malintent (supposedly), the Eye of Agamotto can also be used to weaken demons, dark sorcerers, and other sorts of evil entities.

Strange has used it to hinder the likes of Dormammu himself, as the Eye of Agamotto becomes like Kryptonite for the dark things that crawl between dimensions. This makes Doctor Strange a true warrior of the light, even if he's made his fair share of morally grey mistakes in the past.

7 ANUBIS: Peers Into Reality

While both the Eye of Agamotto and the Amulet of Anubis both enable its wielder to see a kind of higher truth than what other mortals may see, the Amulet of Anubis makes one with attuned with the very nature of reality itself.

He can see beyond our dimension into others, monitor the stability of magic and our very universe, evaluate threats and growing power, and has general clairvoyance of what is and what's to come.

6 AGAMOTTO: Allows The User Free Will

If there is one thing that one can say about Stephen Strange, it's that he certainly does things his own way. The Amulet of Anubis and the Helm of Fate make their wielder into an agent of Nabu, the Lord of Order.

Several times this has come back to bite the likes of Kent Nelson, as Nabu has seized control over Dr. Fate several times. The longer one holds the mantle of Dr. Fate, the more flattened their personalities become, and the more their sanity degrades. It is a curse as much as a gift that wielders of the Eye of Agamotto do not experience.

5 ANUBIS: Contains A Pocket Dimension

The Amulet of Anubis holds an entire world within itself, which is something the Eye of Agamotto cannot (yet) claim. There is an entire pocket dimension within the Amulet, and it has pulled Dr. Fate and his companions within on several occasions.

It isn't often something that Dr. Fate seems to be able to control, but he has exerted the power willingly before.

4 AGAMOTTO: Control Over Time

While the Eye of Agamotto in Marvel comics doesn't contain a Time Stone like in the MCU, it has allowed its user to manipulate time in the past. A recent example is Dr. Strange's resurrecting of Las Vegas after the devastation it suffered from Hydra.

This ended up turning on Strange, as Mephisto took control over the city and Strange also resurrected the dead souls of the city. That said, there have been occasions where the Eye has been used to exert minor control over time without disastrous consequences.

3 ANUBIS: Allows Communion With Past Wielders

The Amulet of Anubis holds onto the souls of Dr. Fate's who pass on from this mortal coil. This allows new wielders of the Amulet to commune with past champions of Nabu for advice.

This is certainly a double-edged sword, as this means that Nabu gets to keep your soul. However, it has helped Dr. Fate in the past and will certainly do so for future people with the mantle in the DC Universe.

2 AGAMOTTO: Healing And Connection Between Souls

An impressive feat of the Eye of Agamotto is that it saved the life of Nighthawk while on the Defenders. Kyle Richmond had suffered a grievous injury that would have killed him were it not for the intervention of Dr. Strange.

He used the Eye to connect himself with other Defenders and transfer their life energy to the waning Nighthawk, and it restored him to full health.

1 ANUBIS: Hide From Magic

A very useful skill when facing magical threats from our world and beyond, the Amulet of Anubis can prevent its wielder from being detected by sorcerous means.

This means that Dr. Fate can camouflage himself from his mystical foes and even Dr. Strange if the two were ever to meet.
