Dr. Stone Trailers Show New Look at Adaptation of the Hit Manga

Two new trailers give a look at the upcoming anime based on Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi's Dr. Stone.

Although neither trailer is in English, they do give a good sense of the show's world and story, while also being pretty faithful to Boichi art style. The first trailer, titled "Stone World" in Japanese, highlights the darker side of the show and the conflict between protagonist Senku Ishigami and Tsukasa Shishio.

The second video, titled "Science Craft" in Japanese, shows the more comedic side of the show, focusing on comic-relief character Taiju Oki.

First launched in 2017, Dr. Stone explores a post-apocalyptic world in which everyone has been petrified following a bright flash of light. Millenia later, genius high-school student Senku Ishigami and his friend Taiju Oki eventually break out of their petrified states and proceed to revive several other people, including Yuzuriha Ogawa and Tsukasa Shishio. Senku seeks to revive all of humanity, but not everyone agrees that the way the world was just fine the way it was before.

The manga has garnered much acclaim in Japan and is one of the most popular books currently running in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump. The manga is available in English through Viz Media.
