Dr. Dre issued an encouraging and positive statement from the hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm.

"Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes," he told Variety. "I'm doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!"

The iconic rapper and record executive was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday, Jan. 4 and was taken directly to the ICU. While the statement indicates that he is doing better, doctors are still struggling to figure out what caused the bleeding and are currently running a series of tests.

Dr. Dre began his rapper career as a member of the World Class Wreckin' Cru in 1985 before joining N.W.A — whose rise and fall is chronicled in the film Straight Outta Compton — in 1987. His first solo album — 1992's The Chronic — won him a Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance for the single "Let Me Ride." Since then, he released two more solo albums (1999's 2001 and 2015's Compton) as well as several compilation albums. He also won five more Grammy's, including Best Rap Album for 2001.

Dr. Dre is also a successful record producer and businessman. He founded the record label Aftermath Entertainment in 1996 and counts Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Anderson .Paak as current acts. Previous acts include 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Dion and The Game. He is also the founder of the headphone company Beats Electronics, which is currently owned by Apple.
