Downey Jr. Teases Iron Man's Surprising "Civil War" Allegiance -- Or Does He?

"Captain America: Civil War's" release date is now just over a month away, and every hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has to choose a side. On the issue of superhero accountability, the heroes of the MCU have to either stand with #TeamCap against oversight or with #TeamIronMan and the government. But, what if the leader of one of the teams ends up not agreeing with himself...?!

Robert Downey Jr. has teased just such a development with a revelatory Twitter post, one that makes it pretty clear that not even Iron Man can resist Captain America's rallying cry.

Of course this post is an April Fools' Day joke, as RDJ calls out in the tweet with a wink and a hashtag. The sides of "Civil War" still stand as we know them, with Steve Rogers and Tony Stark still occupying opposing views. If there's any side-shifting going on, odds are we'll have to wait until "Civil War" hits theaters to find out.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan and more, "Captain America: Civil War" opens on May 6, 2016.
