Image Comics is set to take on the secret, underground world of cannibalistic furries in Plush.

Coming from writer Doug Wagner (Beware the Eye of Odin,The Average Joes) and artist Daniel Hillyard (The Ride: Burning Desire), Plush is set to introduce readers to the darkest side of the fur-suited convention circuit that has ever been seen. Wagner said of the series, "Plush is me and Daniel's final act in this crazy ride we’ve been on for the past few years, and it's the perfect conclusion. Ending with a pack of serial-killer, cannibalistic furries just feels right and warms my heart. I love weird, quirky, messed-up concepts with a beating heart at their center. Plush has all of that in spades. Of course, what feels right to me and Daniel probably isn't anywhere close to normal."

Hillyard previously worked with Wagner on the serial killer comics Plastic and Vinyl, both of which were published by Image Comics. Released in 2017, Plastic, which was colored by Laura Martin, was a five-issue series that followed Edwyn Stoffgruppen, a retired serial killer who tries to keep his hands clean while he takes a honeymoon with true love, Virginia, who also happens to be a sex doll. Vinyl followed in 2021 and centers around a man named Walter, a murderer who gets wrapped up in a case involving a cult of sunflower farmers. In a fitting addition to Wagner's statement and off the series' brightly colored, gore-filled panels, Hillyard noted, "I love drawing this cast in all their blood-soaked, furry glory. Plush is a tale of cannibals and love at first sight. A story with a lot of heart...and the eating of them."
