Doug Jones Could Join The Strain

Guillermo del Toro's The Strain has room for the filmmaker's go-to monster-man, Doug Jones.

Jones, who starred in del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy movies, told Zap2It he's discussing joining the FX drama based on the bestselling vampire novels by del Toro and Chuck Hogan, "maybe near the end of the season."

"I don't know what he has in store for me just yet," the actor said. "My hope is that it would be a transformation where I start looking like this and turn into one of those 'Strain' vampires. Let's hope so."

Jones is often unrecognizable in his movie roles, having lent his talents to characters such as the Silver Surfer in Fox's Fantastic Four sequel, Abe Sapien in the Hellboy series, and much more. A turn as one of del Toro's nasty vampires would fit in his resume quite nicely.
