In a recent interview, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" production designer Patrick Tatopoulos shared a bit about the debut of Doomsday in the film's latest trailer, revealing that the character's presence not only differs from his comic book origins, he's not even the film's final threat.

"We are able to tell a story in a fresh way," Tatopoulos told Premiere, as translated by Heroic Hollywood. "Doomsday is an evolution essentially. Fans may be aware of 'The Death of Superman' story, but this is handled in such a new way."

He continued to say that "Doomsday isn't just the final act." In fact, the DC trinity -- Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman -- will actually face an even "larger threat." Ultimately, he claims viewers will be surprised by the "timeframe of how things fall into place."

Directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer, "Batman v Superman" stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits theatres March 25, 2016.
