NetherRealm Studios' "Injustice: Gods Among Us" is only about month away from release, but it's clear the developer and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment aren't done with the reveals just yet. Following the revelation that Sinestro and Hawkgirl would be a part of the roster, a gameplay trailer has been released that adds Doomsday to the fray.

The trailer showcases a fight between Doomsday and Shazam, with the two showing off basic and super moves. Doomsday's super move shows him grapple his opponent and smash them through the Earth's core, then back to the battlefield after taking them through water and molten magma.

For those following the storyline so far in DC's "Injustice" digital-first comic prequel, Doomsday's inclusion may not be much of a surprise. In the events leading to "Injustice," the Joker's murder of Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen has forced Superman to form a New World Order over the entire Earth, causing heroes and villains alike to battle against one another. As a creature genetically engineered to destroy Superman, Doomsday is a natural selection for the story -- after all, who better to take on Superman than the being that once killed him. Plus, his brutally destructive abilities make him a perfect heavy fighter for the game.

Even with Doomsday added, the balance is still skewed in favor of DC heroes, with only eight of the announced characters so far being villains. It's unknown how many more characters "Injustice" will feature, but NetherRealm's "Mortal Kombat" in 2011 featured 28 characters at release with four more available through downloadable content. "Injustice" has announced 20 characters so far, meaning that there may still be more reveals to come.
