The conclusion of Geoff Johns and Gary Frank's Doomsday Clock will have major ramifications for the immediate and longterm future of the DC Universe. While different crises were teased, the finale also introduced a new member of the Legion of Super-Heroes that may have gone unnoticed by the majority of fans.

After a big two-page splash, Issue 12 showed a panel with Saturn Girl reminding someone named Soultaker not to kill anyone. The Soultaker character is not fleshed out beyond this single panel, but she does appear to be wearing an outfit reminiscent of the DC hero Katana, whose sword is named Soultaker.

Created by Mike W. Barr and Jim Aparo, Katana debuted in 1983's The Brave and the Bold #200. She is a samurai warrior who lost her husband, Maseo, with his soul now resting inside Katana's samurai sword. Katana currently stars as a member of Batman and the Outsiders, but has also appeared in Justice League and the Birds of Prey.

Katana made her big-screen debut in 2016's Suicide Squad, portrayed by Karen Fukuhara, and has also starred in the Arrowverse with appearances on Arrow by Rila Fukushima.

DC has launched a new volume of Legion of Super-Heroes by Brian Michael Bendis and Ryan Sook, with the second issue on sale now.
