The third season of Doom Patrol has officially cast Ty Tennant (War of the Worlds, Tolkien) and Sebastian Croft (HBO's Game of Thrones, Horrible Histories: The Movie) as the Dead Boy Detectives from Vertigo's The Sandman.

Tennant will portray Edwin Payne, a member of the Dead Boy Detectives Agency. His description reads, "Dead since 1916, Edwin spent 80 years in hell due to a 'clerical error' and has seen horrors no one could imagine." The description for Croft's Charles Rowland reads, "Affable, charming, and dead since 1989, he always does his best to be chipper, but his death by hypothermia and neglect haunts him."

Created by Neil Gaiman, Matt Wagner and Malcolm Jones III, the Dead Boy Detectives debuted in 1991's The Sandman #25. Teenagers Edwin Paine and Charles Rowland died in the early 20th century, and instead of moving on to the afterlife, their spirits remained on Earth so they could solve supernatural crimes. News of Ty Tennant and Sebastian Croft playing the Dead Boy Detectives was first reported a week ago. They join recent addition Michelle Gomez as Madame Rouge for Doom Patrol Season 3.

Doom Patrol stars Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele, Diane Guerrero as Crazy Jane, Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor, April Bowlby as Rita Farr, Jovian Wade as Vic Stone and Timothy Dalton as Niles Caulder. Season 3 has yet to receive a premiere date.
