DC Universe's official promo for "Doom Patrol Patrol," the upcoming sixth episode of Doom Patrol, teases the current incarnation of the titular team coming face-to-face with their predecessors.

More specifically, the Grant Morrison and Gerard Way-inspired version of the Doom Patrol that DC Universe subscribers are familiar with can be seen meeting an old school, Arnold Drake/Bob Haney/Bruno Premiani-inspired Doom Patrol, complete with the classic white-and-red spandex outfits.

In particular, the promo teases some sort of connection between Rita and fellow classic Doom Patrol member Mento. Of course, in the original DC Comics, Mento's skill set involves him being a very smart and very rich man who constructs a helmet that boosts his mental abilities. He does this to impress Rita/Elasti-Girl and the two actually end up marrying. In turn, this episode is sure to be full of tongue-in-cheek nods to the source material.

In addition to the proverbial meeting between old and new, the preview also teases a new personal adventure for Robotman and Cyborg, with the former race car driver attempting to bond with the former football star, only to be met with a bit of apprehension.

Per the official synopsis for "Doom Patrol Patrol,"

Streaming now on DC Universe, Doom Patrol stars Brendan Fraser as Cliff Steele, Matt Bomer as Larry Trainor, Diana Guerrero as Crazy Jane, Alan Tudyk as Mr. Nobody, April Bowlby as Rita Farr, Joivan Wade as Vic Stone and Timothy Dalton as Niles Caulder.
