DC Universe's Doom Patrol Debuts First Official Look At Robotman

Actor Brendan Fraser took the stage at New York Comic Con to reveal the first official look at his incarnation of Robotman in the upcoming Doom Patrol series.

Set photos from last month gave fans a sneak peek at Fraser and Riley Shanahan's version of Robotman. However, this is the first official look at the character. This version of Robotman seems to take cues from his most recent comic book incarnation, looking just about identical his appearance in Gerard Way’s Doom Patrol series from DC Comics’ Young Animal imprint.

Created by Arnold Drake and Bruno Premiani, Robotman first appeared in 1963's My Greatest Adventure #80. Also known as Cliff Steele, the character's backstory involves him being a former race car driver whose body is rendered uninhabitable following a nasty accident, which prompts Dr. Caulder to build him a new robotic body to call his own. And while Shanahan will wear the Robotman suit, Fraser is expected to appear in flashback sequences as Cliff prior to the accident that changed his life forever.
