Universal Pictures' big-screen reboot of the classic video game Doom has added two more actors to its cast.
Announced through the film's Twitter account, the adaptation has cast Amy Mason and Luke Allen-Gale as Joan Dark and Bennett Stone, respectively. In a s brief video, the actors appear to be on set, standing amid high-tech equipment.
Manson is best known for playing Princess Merida in the fifth season of ABC's Once Upon a Time. Allen-Gale is more prolific with British productions, although he is best knownto American audiences as part of the regular cast of the Syfy series Dominion, which aired for two seasons.
They join Nina Simone, who announced in April that she will be in a new Doom film. That was the first official word that Universal was adapting the iconic first-person shooter for the big screen again. The studio had previously adapted Doom in 2005 to disastrous results critically and commercially, with Dwayne Johnson and Karl Urban.
While there is no official word about a release date, the film is rumored to be targeting 2019. The new adaptation is written and directed by Tony Giglio, whose credits include S.W.A.T.: Under Siege and, as second unit director, 2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife. Principal photography is under way in Bulgaria.
