A talented cosplayer brought the Marauder, the terrifying and controversial enemy from Doom Eternal, to life with an impressive cosplay.

Reddit user u/fireshow77 revealed some photos of their Marauder outfit, complete with shining red eyes and a glowing Argent Axe. The outfit perfectly replicates several intricate details present on the Marauders' armor, including their intimidating horns and chest piece. According to fireshow77, the cosplay took around 900 hours to complete and has been exhibited at several major cosplay conventions and festivals, including the recent Winter Cosplay Contest. While their build didn't win any prizes, fans of Doom Eternal lobbed praise at the creator.

It's no wonder why fireshow77 elected to cosplay the Marauder: Outside of Doom Eternal's main bosses, the enemy is arguably the most challenging to face. A collection of resurrected Night Sentinels who sided with the demonic intentions of the Hell Priests and the Khan Maykr, the brutal foe is able to withstand and deflect most of the Doomslayer's attacks. Not only did fireshow77 recreate the Marauder's melee weapon, but they also built a replica of the double-barrel shotgun used to keep the player from pulling back too far.

Released in 2020, Doom Eternal is a fast, hyper-violent first-person shooter that places players in the unstoppable boots of The Doomslayer. Acting as Earth's last defense against a rising tide of demons who are beginning to slowly break out of Hell, the Doomslayer must venture across the planet and brutally slaughter all the creatures that stand in his way. The Marauder is one such enemy that appears towards the mid-point of the game. After successfully rescuing Dr. Samuel Hayden, the axe-wielding mini-boss steps through a portal and challenges players to a duel. While initially difficult due to the imposing space restrictions, the Marauder can be overcome with careful timing and quick reflexes.
