Fresh off the first official look at Doom: Annihilation, the upcoming cinematic reboot of the popular video game franchise has released its first teaser trailer.

The trailer shows space marines responding to a distress signal from a colony on one of Mars' moons. Upon their arrival, they find the base overrun with ravenous undead, while demonic forces threaten to unleash hell on Earth.

Starring Once Upon a Time's Amy Manson, the teaser hints at a dark, bloody adaptation of the classic first-person Doom, released on PC in 1993. True to its original source material, the teaser trailer features plenty of really big guns.

The video game franchise was previously adapted into a widely panned film starring Dwayne Johnson, Rosamund Pike and Karl Urban in 2005. Principal photography on the upcoming reboot took place this past summer in Bulgaria. No release date has been officially announced, but it is expected to premiere sometime this fall.

Written and directed by Tony Giglio (S.W.A.T.: Under Siege), Doom: Annihilation is slated for release in 2019. The film stars Amy Manson as Joan Dark, Luke Allen-Gale as Bennett Stone as well as Nina Bergman and Dominic Mafham.
