Writer Donny Cates took over the ongoing Thor title in the beginning of 2020, and he has great plans for the God of Thunder.

A fan on Twitter asked how long Cates planned to stay on the title, noting that Cates had previously said he plotted out a five-year plan for Venom. "My Thor plan is as big if not bigger than my venom plan if that gives you any indication," Cates responded, "Like it or not I'm not going anywhere anytime soon."

Cates took over as writer of the Thor title following Jason Aaron's groundbreaking run. His first arc, "The Devourer King," explored Thor's struggle to adjust to his new duties as King of Asgard. After Galactus arrived in Asgard seeking Thor's help in dealing with The Black Winter, the god of thunder became Galactus' new herald.

Cates has already re-invigorated the Venom mythology -- introducing Knull, God of the Symbiotes -- and plans to stay on that title for an extended period of time.

Thor #5, written by Donny Cates with artwork by Nic Klein, goes on sale June 24 from Marvel Comics.
