Marvel's Venom writer Donny Cates has teased a new comic project by revealing a piece of artwork by his longtime collaborator, Dylan Burnett.

Cates wrote on Twitter, "It's late and I don't care so here's a teaser of a new thing Dylan Burnett and friends and I are working on!" He followed the tweet with a peek at Burnett's art, which features a massive sword.

Burnett's art teases a very dark series is around the corner, as illustrated by the black and violet forest background. Both the background and foreground are filled with mysterious creatures containing gaping mouths and glowing eyes, giving off an eerie feel. A barely visible blue moon in the sky illuminates a young person with a scowl on her their face holding a huge sword. The character is highlighted by blue and violet hues while being covered by a pink mist.

Besides writing for Venom, Cates has also helmed Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, Star Trek and the Marvel event Absolute Carnage. The writer's creator-owned comics include Ghost FleetRedneck and God Country.
