With production set to begin later this month, FX has announced the cast for Donald Glover's pilot "Atlanta."

The project centers on two cousins making their way through the Atlanta rap scene. Glover stars as Earnest "Earn" Marks, a loner in an unglamorous job who, when his cousin Alfred becomes the city's hot rapper, sees an opportunity to manage his career.

He's joined by Brian Tyree Henry ("The Knick," "Boardwalk Empire') as Alfred Miles, who hopes to capitalize quickly on his sudden fame; Lakeith Lee Stanfield ("Dope," "Selma") as Darius, Alfred's right-hand man and musical collaborator; and Zazie Beetz ("Applesauce") Van, a pragmatist tangled in a complicated relationship with Earn because of their daughter.

Music video director Hiro Murai, who's helmed videos for Glover's Childish Gambino, will tackle the pilot. Glover created "Atlanta" and wrote the pilot.
