FX has optioned Don DeLillo's upcoming sci-fi novel "Zero K." This option comes under Scott Rudin's deal with Fox.

"Zero K," which hits shelves in May, chronicles the futuristic tale of a wealthy man who admits his ailing wife into a life prolongation program. The story is told through the eyes of the family's son, who meditates on life, death, and immortality as he witnesses his mother suffer.

According to Deadline, if FX moves forward with the project, Scott Rudin will produce the series. Rudin's previous production credits include "Ex Machina," "Steve Jobs," and "The Grand Budapest Hotel."
