Marvel.com has announced that Dominic Cooper is the latest addition to "Marvel's Agent Carter" television series, reprising his role as Howard Stark. The actor will join fellow Marvel Cinematic Universe alum Hayley Atwell in the upcoming series, set to debut in 2015.

Cooper's Howard Stark has appeared multiple times during the course of Marvel's films -- the actor first appeared as a young version of Tony Stark's father in "Captain America: The First Avenger," where he played a huge role in helping turn Steve Rogers into Captain America for the Strategic Scientific Reserve. The actor would don Howard Stark's mustache one additional time in the "Agent Carter" one-shot for a cameo appearance.

The return of Cooper as Howard Stark shouldn't come as much of a surprise, especially considering the actor indicated he was keen to return to the role back in January.

"I saw Hayley recently, and I think that the 'Carter' thing is possibly going to happen, so yeah. I'd love to [be on it]. I wouldn't hesitate," Cooper said. "I would like to do any way possible that Howard Stark can make a return. He's such a fun character to play, and I really believe that he could make quite an exciting character to watch more of."

Cooper joins fellow cast members Atwell, Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, James D'Arcy and Shea Whigham. The show, written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, airs in 2015 on ABC.
