With Robert Downey, Jr. taking on the role of iconic veterinarian Doctor John Dolittle on the big screen next month, Universal has released a cheeky new promo of the fan-favorite actor auditioning creatures big and small for a role in the film.

The clip has Downey screen-test opposite everything from ducks to polar bears, as he attempts to find the perfect feathery and furry co-stars for the upcoming cinematic reboot, with hapless results.

Dolittle follows the eponymous veterinarian who becomes a recluse following the loss of his wife, with only a host of exotic animals he can speak with keeping him company. However, when a young queen grows deathly ill, he embarks on an epic journey to discover a cure, accompanied by his animalistic friends.

Dolittle is the first major project by Downey following his long run in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Tony Stark. He is joined by an all-star cast, voicing the menagerie of animals that join the iconic veterinarian on his latest adventure.
