Warner Bros.' so-called DC Extended Universe has always tried to place its own spin on the superheroes, but unlike some of its contemporaries, the franchise's entries don't always include post-credit scenes. And even those that do rarely paid them off, with one notable example being the Deathstroke and Lex Luthor scene at the end of Justice League. So, based on the DCEU’s track record to this point, fans don't know what to expect going into The Suicide Squad.

Thankfully, writer/director James Gunn has always loved adding something a little extra for fans in his post-credit scenes, as his Guardians of the Galaxy movies demonstrate. These moments offered hints at what's coming next in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as well as delivered some exciting Easter eggs, so it should come as no a surprise the filmmaker continues that practice in Warner Bros.' The Suicide Squad. Don't worry, we won't spoil anything.

The Suicide Squad has two end-credit scenes. The first acts as a stinger, while the second paves the way for another DCEU project. Those viewers making the return to theaters, should stick around after the movie ends, as the first scene occurs as the main action concludes, while the second arrives at the end of the credits. Of course, the same applies to those watching on HBO Max, although it's easier to find the additional scenes from the comfort of a couch.

Five years after David Ayer's Suicide Squad, Gunn brings back the team of villains forced to work for the government. Returning for The Suicide Squad are Viola Davis’s Amanda Waller, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman’s Rick Flag and Jai Courtney’s Captain Boomerang. They're joined by Idris Elba as Bloodsport, John Cena as Peacemaker, Sylvester Stallone asKing Shark, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher 2, Michael Rooker as Savant, Alice Braga as Sol Soria, Pete Davidson as Blackguard, Nathan Fillion as T.G.K., Sean Gunn as Weasel and Peter Capaldi as The Thinker.

The Suicide Squad heads into theaters with a 96 percent Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes. With the movie simultaneously releasing on HBO Max, the chances of hitting the opening weekend numbers of its predecessor are slim, but Black Widow's $80.3 million debut hints at the potential of a nice box office return for Task Force X's second outing.

To see The Suicide Squad's post-credits scene, the film arrives Aug. 5 in theaters and on HBO Max.
