Leave it to J.J. Abrams to raise a million more questions about Star Wars: Episode VII without answering a single one.

This week, the director tweeted an image of a note that reads, "Why do I suddenly have this desperate need to own a watch?! Damn you, Apple!!! JJ" It's the message but rather the background that ignited speculation among bloggers and fans, some of whom see the familiar-looking pattern as a sign we'll see another Death Star in the new film.

Sure, the design looks a lot like the wall pattern seen throughout the Empire's massive space station -- "That's no moon" -- A New Hope. However, as Topless Robot points out, it could be a common architectural element, which may simply mean that, following the events of Return of the Jedi, Empire structures still remain (as would only makes sense). Of course, plot rumors and Stormtrooper helmet designs would seem to indicate the remnants of the Empire exist in Episode VII, but that doesn't necessarily mean another Death Star does.

Abrams dropped a similar teaser in June when he released a note complaining about set leaks, photographed atop the Millennium Falcon's dejarik game board.

Arriving Dec. 18, 2015, Star Wars: Episode VII features franchise veterans Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker, joined by newcomers John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Lupita Nyong’o and Gwendoline Christie.
