'Doctor Who' Season Premiere Scheduled, Teaser Released

New Doctor Who is now less than two months away. BBC America has announced an 8 p.m. Aug. 23 premiere date for the latest season of the beloved, long-running sci-fi series -- the first starring Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor, who first appeared in the role in this past year's Christmas special, "The Time of the Doctor."

Just the date would likely be enough to enthuse the show's devoted fans, but BBC America also released a teaser for the new season, packing in plenty of intrigue in just 15 seconds: the newly regenerated Doctor asking, "Am I a good man?" and Clara (Jenna Coleman) remarking, "I don't think I know who the Doctor who is anymore." The Doctor Who series 8 premiere, "Deep Breath," is written by showrunner Steven Moffat and directed by Ben Wheatley.
