David Tennant and Christopher Mintz-Plasse have signed on to star in the Fright Night remake, joining a growing cast that already includes Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell. The story focuses on a teenager named Charlie (Yelchin) who becomes convinced that his next door neighbor (Farrell) is a vampire. Charlie's mother (Toni Collette) doesn't believe her son's accusations.
These are the roles for Tennant and Mintz-Plasse, according to The Hollywood Reporter:
Tennant will play Peter Vincent, a character who in the original movie was played by Roddy McDowall as the host of a late-night horror show. In the remake, he’s a Las Vegas magician whose show revolves around horror-movie imagery. Vincent claims to be a vampire expert, but when the teen turns to him for assistance, he’s less than helpful.
Mintz-Plasse is playing Evil Ed, Yelchin’s friend who feels slighted that Charlie has left his nerdy past behind and thus joins the vampire’s coven.
I know, it's a remake, Hollywood has run out of ideas, yadda yadda yadda. But with Yelchin, Farrell, Collette, and now McLovin and the Tenth Doctor on board, how can you not be excited for the Fright Night remake?
