Though the new season of Doctor Who is still months away, the BBC has just released a video revealing the official new logo of the series, accompanied by a new brand new poster teasing the 13th Doctor's adventures through space and time.
The video shows the iconic blue TARDIS zooming through space as it blasts a hole through the time vortex, creating the central line of the series' title. The logo itself is thin and simple, yet wholly dynamic.
Like the series itself, the logo of Doctor Who is constantly evolving. The logo has changed many times throughout the years, through all iterations of the iconic Time Lord. As the series embarks on a new path with star Jodie Whittaker, the first female actress to embody the role of The Doctor in the series' 55-year history, the poster and this new logo let us know that Doctor Who is embarking on a new chapter.
Whittaker will be joined in the upcoming 11th season by Bradley Walsh (Law & Order: UK) as Graham, Tosin Cole (Hollyoaks) as Ryan and Mandip Gill (Hollyoaks) as Yasmin. At that time, Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch) will succeed Steven Moffat as head writer and executive producer. The new season of Doctor Who is expected to debut in the fall.
