Doctor Who Season 13 officially went into production last month, and though it will be a while until Whovians get to see what's next in store for Whittaker's currently imprisoned Doctor past the "Revolution of the Daleks" Holiday Special, it appears the return of a particular fearsome enemy has been leaked thanks to an on set photo.

A Doctor Who fan page shared the image taken from Penarth, a town located in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. The shared picture showcases two images. One is slightly blurry, whereas the other is a wider, more focused shot. Both, however, clearly capture the image of a Weeping Angel.

The Weeping Angels are a race of creatures who feed on the energy created by time paradoxes. They have the ability to send a person back in time before their own birth, feeding off of the potential energy of the years their victim may have eventually lived by the forced paradox. The Doctor has previously described the Weeping Angels as "the deadliest, most powerful, most malevolent life-form evolution has ever produced."

The creatures first appeared in Doctor Who in the 2007 episode, "Blink." They have played a major part throughout the popular sci-fi series since their debut, including in 2012's "The Angels Take Manhattan," which saw them not only hijack the Statue of Liberty, but also force the Doctor's companions, Amy Pond and her husband Rory Williams, into a paradox point the Doctor could no longer visit, separating them forever.

The Doctor Who Holiday Special "Revolution of the Daleks" airs this New Year's Day on BBC One and BBC America. Doctor Who Season 13 is currently in production and is scheduled to air in 2021.
