The BBC shattered expectations and declared a new era of television was afoot when it announced that the next actor to play the iconic role of The Doctor in the British network's long-running sci-fi series Doctor Who would be Jodie Whittaker. After 55 years of air time and 12 different male actors who brought the Time Lord to life, Whittaker was now the first ever female Doctor in the show's history.

While she made her seconds-long debut in last Christmas' special episode "Twice Upon a Time," Whittaker's Doctor is finally ready to soar. Season 11 is only a short month away and, to make sure everyone knows that this is a momentous occasion in television history, the BBC released yet another new promo for the series' return.

The video features Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor standing in the middle of an atrium. Her mere presence sends a shockwave that shatters not only the windows on the circular walls but also the entire glass ceiling above. This is obviously a metaphor meant to evoke the infamous 'glass ceiling' that plagues women in the workforce. Here, Whittaker's Doctor shows that her arrival is a significant occasion, and certainly not one to be taken lightly.

"Whoops," The Doctor exclaims nonchalantly, surrounded by debris. She doesn't feel a shred of remorse because, clearly, no one should have to feel sorry for shattering that glass ceiling. This is a bold new era for the series, and for television as a whole. As the promo directly states: It's about time.
