Benedict Cumberbatch is the latest Marvel star to express interest in an all-female Marvel movie.
The Doctor Strange star did an interview with Buzzfeed, where they asked for his thoughts on the potential, all-women Marvel team-up.
"Yeah, bring it, why not?" he said. "There's space for that definitely. We're seeing the rise of the female superhero and why not? It'd be great."
Cumberbatch is not the first Marvel star to voice support for this project. Scarlett Johansson is actively pushing for one, while Captain Marvel's Brie Larson has expressed major interest. MCU chief Kevin Feige has also spoken on the matter, promising more female-led Marvel movies are on the horizon.
Cumberbatch will appear next as the Sorcerer Supreme in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Avengers: Endgame co-star Elizabeth Olsen will reprise her role as Scarlet Witch, with the movie tying into her Disney+ series, WandaVision.
Directed by Scott Derrickson and written by Jade Bartlett, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Elizabeth Olsen, Rachel McAdams and Benedict Wong. The film will hit theaters on May 7, 2021.
