The Doctor is in! During a recent set interview, "Doctor Strange" star Benedict Cumberbatch spoke to Empire (via Express) about the Sorcerer Supreme's next Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance, which more or less confirms the good doctor's involvement in "Avengers: Infinity War."
Asked what was next for Doctor Strange, Cumberbatch went on to discuss the "logistical challenge of aligning his schedule with those of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany."
"To get us all together will be quite something. That’s why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter," he added.
At this point in time, Downey (Iron Man), Hemsworth (Thor), Olsen (Scarlet Witch) and Bettany (Vision) are scheduled to appear together next in "Avengers: Infinity War." Though Cumberbatch didn't directly name the film, it is incredibly likely that he is referring to "Infinity War" in his statements here.
Directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton,Chiwitel Ejiofor and more, “Doctor Strange” opens on November 4. “Avengers: Infinity War,” which starts filming in Atlanta the first week of November, will be co-directed by “Captain America: Civil War’s” Anthony and Joe Russo and is scheduled to open May 25, 2018.
