The runtime for the highly-anticipated Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness reportedly leaked.

According to Ingresso.com, a Brazilian ticketing website, the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster clocks in at 148 minutes, or two hours and 28 minutes. If that runtime is accurate, it would make Multiverse of Madness the fourth-longest movie in the MCU, beaten only by Avengers: Infinity War, Eternals and Avengers: Endgame. It also puts Doctor Strange's latest adventure on par with the recent Spider-Man: No Way HomeSince the film is reportedly undergoing reshoots, there's a possibility that length could change as the release date draws closer.

Given the sheer scale of Multiverse of Madness' concept, a lengthy runtime feels almost essential. Following on from the events of No Way Home, Doctor Strange is forced to confront the consequences of his actions after he tears down the barrier between universes. The Master of the Mystics Arts will seemingly need to defeat sinister variants of himself as well as Scarlet Witch, who has only grown in power since discovering the Darkhold in WandaVision.

According to star Benedict Cumberbatch, Multiverse of Madness will fundamentally alter Doctor Strange and require him to examine some of his darker personality traits. "I think this does veer into the realm of plot spoilers, so I can't talk too much about it, because this film is definitely an evolution of [his character]," Cumberbatch said. "We'll definitely see him being challenged on that front. That much I can say. And I think that's a good thing. We need to shake him up."

Beyond the multiversal collapse, the next chapter in the ever-growing MCU is expected to pull in various heroes from other superhero franchises. The film's trailers already highlighted an appearance by Patrick Stewart who is confirmed to reprise his role as Professor X from Fox's X-Men franchise. Based on one of Multiverse of Madness' posters, fans are also expecting an appearance by Captain Carter, an alternate version of Captain America that was introduced in the What If...? animated series.

The character fans are perhaps most desperate to see is Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool. While Marvel Studios has confirmed that Deadpool 3 is in development, many believe the Merc with a Mouth will make an appearance in Multiverse of Madness. Reynolds has vehemently denied these rumors, promising that Wade Wilson will not make a cameo in the latest Doctor Strange.
