The upcoming "Doctor Strange" film is nearly exactly a year away from release, and Marvel Studios appears to still be making additions to its cast. The Hollywood Reporter has word that Michael Stuhlbarg is currently "in negotiations" to join the film in an as-yet unspecified role.

Stuhlbarg is likely best known for his role as crime boss Arnold Rothstein in HBO's "Boardwalk Empire." He can currently be seen in theaters in "Steve Jobs," as key Apple programmer Andy Hertzfeld. As noted by THR, this would be the actor's first foray into superhero fare, but not his first genre film -- he appeared as Griffin in 2012's "Men in Black 3."

Directed by Scott Derrickson and based on the character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, "Doctor Strange" stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role. The film has a scheduled release date of Nov. 4, 2016, and is slated to start production this month.
