WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for Gerry Duggan and Mike Deodato’s Infinity Wars Prime #1, on sale now, and Infinity Wars #1, on sale Wednesday, August 1.

The Marvel Universe is promising change is looming via Infinity Wars, and it'll be coming in the shape of death. Infinity Wars Prime #1 already claimed the life of Thanos, with the mysterious assassin known as Requiem beginning her quest to attain the Infinity Stones. Apart from her killing the Mad Titan, we also saw hints of another mysterious cosmic villain to come, as well as a corrupt being in the Soul Stone which has Doctor Strange and Adam Warlock petrified.

In short, there are a lot of threats converging, all related to the gems, which is why Strange formed a brand new Infinity Watch, a group of beings meant to safeguard the Stones. However, not everyone who possesses an Infinity Stone has the best intentions at heart, which means danger's definitely on the horizon.

In Marvel's July Spotlight, some preview pages for Infinity Wars #1 have in fact already teased the first threat the group will be facing, and sad to say, it's an internal one.

Strange's call for the Infinity Watch to be assembled has been answered, and everyone's arriving at Belvedere's Castle in Central Park. Strange (wielder of the Mind Stone) and Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel (in possession of the Reality Stone) are first on the scene, with Adam Warlock's squad (including Drax and Kang aka the protectors of the Soul Stone) present as well.

Black Widow (wielder of the Space Stone) hasn't teleported to the scene just yet, but Star Lord, Groot and Rocket Raccoon (Guardians of the Power Stone) make their presence felt when they get into it with the final party, Turk Barrett, the man who possesses the Mind Stone. However, it's not him the Guardians are bickering with, it's his entourage: A group of street-level thugs from the Marvel Universe.

Turk's accompanied by Typhoid Mary, Tombstone, Sandman, the Spot and, last but not least, Bullseye. We can assume Turk has recruited his muscle in case the Infinity Watch tries to take the gem, but given the nature of their powers, it seems Turk may have come for a heist. Everyone in his crew are bloodthirsty villains and capable fighters, and coupling that with Spot's teleportation abilities and Turk's mastery of the Mind Stone's powers, there's a strong possibility they have arrived to take the artifacts for themselves. Seeing as it's six of them and there are six gems, it's awfully suspicious.

What makes this seem like a meeting which isn't going to go peacefully is Bullseye's constant tormenting of Rocket and Groot. He's ridiculing them, astonished the pair of former Guardians can talk, much less fight, making it clear this is the first time he's seeing them in person.

Bullseye is also slightly perturbed Rocket and Groot has been allowed to walk in with weapons, while everyone in his crew was banned from bringing them. It's more than likely the evil marksman will keep antagonizing the group throughout meeting, perhaps even looking to ambush Strange and his fellow heroes once an opening presents itself.

It remains to be seen if this crew is actually under Turk's mind-control, or if they've just thrown in with the Daredevil villain in hopes of "bettering" themselves. One thing's for sure, though -- where there's power to be grabbed, they won't hesitate to do so. The Infinity Watch may have just invited trouble to its doorsteps by including Turk in their plans, and Strange might well come to regret bringing everyone together so soon.
