"The Martian" star Benedict Wong has joined "Doctor Strange" as Wong, Stephen Strange's sidekick (via The Hollywood Reporter).

In the comics, Wong acts as Strange's vastly skilled and versatile sidekick, filling such duties as assisting in occult matters, performing martial arts, tending to Strange's affairs and watching over Strange's body while the Sorcerer Supreme astral projects.

In addition to his role as Bruce Ng in "The Martian," Benedict Wong has appeared in Netflix's "Marco Polo" series, "Prometheus" and "Kick-Ass 2," among others.

Directed by Scott Derrickson and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Chiwitel Ejiofor and more, "Doctor Strange" opens on November 4, 2016.
