Marvel Comics has provided CBR with an exclusive preview of The Death of Doctor Strange #4, by Jed MacKay, Lee Garbett, Antonio Fabela and VC's Cory Petit. In the preview, one of the biggest suspects in the Sorcerer Supreme's death -- Baron Karl Mordo -- claims that he didn't do the deed, though he wanted to.

In the first issue of Death of Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme was murdered in the Sanctum Sanctorum by a mysterious assailant. Mordo soon appeared on the scene, and a number of Doctor Strange's allies were quick to blame the villain, though he denied any wrongdoing. A past version of Doctor Strange then appeared to help investigate his own murder, later teaming up with his estranged wife Clea, who Marvel recently revealed will be the next Sorcerer Supreme. At the end of the most recent issue, the two went together to confront Mordo over having stolen the Cloak of Levitation and Eye of Agamotto.

Death of Doctor Strange #4 picks up right after the last issue, with the Sorcerer Supreme threatening to kill Mordo. Mordo comes out to meet Doctor Strange and says, "I have done much evil in my life. I have murdered, stolen and consorted with demons. And I feel for none of it. My only regret in life, my single lament... is that I am innocent of the murder you accuse me of." As such, Mordo asserts once again that he did not kill Doctor Strange, even if he might ahve liked to be the one to finally take down his old foe. Still, it's not clear at this time just how Mordo got the Eye of Agamotto and Cloak of Levitation.
