Yet another major superhero may be joining the ever-growing roster of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, including an iconic figure from Spider-Man: No Way Home.Voice actors Mariana Torres and Manolo Rey appeared in a photo on social media together, teasing (translated from Portuguese) "Good things are coming!!!". For context, Torres and Rey are the official Portuguese voices for Wanda Maximoff and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, the latter of which recently returned to the screen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Tobey Maguire made his iconic debut as Peter Parker in 2002's Spider-Man, directed by Sam Raimi. Incidentally, Raimi is also directing the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel. His first foray into superhero films since concluding his Spider-Man trilogy in 2007.

Maguire's potential appearance in Multiverse of Madness is one of a number of rumored appearances for the film. It was previously reported that Daredevil star Ben Affleck was approached by Marvel Studios to reprise his version of the Man Without Fear for a cameo. One of the latest rumors involved actor John Krasinski, who some believe may be appearing as a variant of Mister Fantastic from the Fantastic Four-- a group that has not yet been established in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's worth noting that none of these rumors have been officially confirmed.

In addition, a now-deleted ad for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness merchandise seemed to tease the appearance of an Avengers team, which has led to speculation concerning the appearance of an iteration of the team akin to What If...?'s Guardians of the Multiverse.

Beyond the host of rumored characters, the upcoming film will see the return of a number of familiar figures, including Wanda, who now bears the Scarlet Witch moniker, following the events of WandaVision; Mordo, who was last seen at the end of Doctor Strange, seemingly on a path to ridding the world of sorcerers; and Wong, now the MCU's Sorcerer Supreme, taking over from Strange, who vanished with half the universe in the Blip.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will also introduce a new superhero to the MCU: America Chavez, played by Xochitl Gomez. Merchandise for the the film suggests that it will adhere to the comic books closely when it comes to Chavez.
