Stunt actor C.C. Ice, who doubles for actor Elizabeth Olsen, recently shared photos of herself quarantining in London in preparation to start filming Doctor Strange's sequel.

C.C. Ice shared the photo as an Instagram story on her account, suggesting that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is finally beginning filming.

Ice's surprise story supported the filming start timeframe that leading actor Benedict Cumberbatch reported to news outlets at the start of October. Then, he stated that the film was in "pre-production" and the goal was to begin shooting the anticipated sequel in late October to early November. Originally, director Sam Raimi planned to start filming the sequel in June. Filming was unfortunately delayed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Ice was last seen training on the set of Disney+'s upcoming WandaVision television series, which is currently slated to debut in December. WandaVision will serve as a prequel for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so Ice's arrival to London also heavily suggests that Olsen is also on her way soon to begin filming her scenes, pending the completion of her work on WandaVision.

Plot details for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are scarce, however, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did confirm that a major and unexpected character will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this film. Fans speculated this character might end up being Doctor Doom. Other rumors suggested that Wiccan and Speed, the superhero twin offspring of Wanda Maximoff and Vision, will play major roles in the film.

The film will also tie into events from Disney+'s upcoming television series, Loki, which will feature the trickster god traveling through an alternate timeline. Though Raimi's film was initially announced as the first scary Marvel film, Feige clarified it would be "a big MCU film with scary sequences in it."

Directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen and Xochitl Gomez. The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 25, 2022. Cumberbatch previously played the role of the Sorcerer Supreme in Doctor Strange, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame, which can all be currently streamed on Disney+.
