The following contains major spoilers for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, now in theaters.

John Krasinski finally acknowledged his cameo in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as Dr. Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic.

The actor hopped on Twitter to share a cheeky message with his followers. "Alright! Just wrapped! Finally back in town and headed straight out to the movies!… anything I need to see?" wrote Krasinski. One user replied that he should go see Multiverse of Madness, the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe film. The Office star responded with a simple, "Fantastic." Krasinski had been a popular casting choice for Mister Fantastic amongst fans, especially after Marvel Studios announced a Fantastic Four movie was in development. A photoshopped image of Krasinski as Reed Richards has circulated online for several years, which further strengthened fans calling for the actor to be cast in the MCU.

Mister Fantastic was rumored to appear in Multiverse of Madness in December 2021, but at the time, it was unknown who would be playing the character. Krasinski's casting was not confirmed until the film hit theaters, which revealed the actor was playing the Earth-838 variant of Dr. Reed Richards, the "Smartest Man Alive" and a member of that universe's Illuminati. He was killed during a confrontation with Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch. However, a recent report disclosed that Krasinski and Mister Fantastic only appeared in Multiverse of Madness as a last-minute replacement for Daniel Craig, who was initially set to play the Asgardian Balder the Brave. The James Bond actor reportedly backed out of shooting his cameo because of COVID-19 concerns which prompted Marvel to reach out to Krasinski.

Anson Mount, who appeared as the Earth-838 variant of his Inhumans character Black Bolt, recently opened up about acting in the Doctor Strange sequel. "Finally able to discuss this without providing too many spoilers. Getting the call from [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige was one of the most unexpected of my life," Mount wrote on Twitter. "It was an honor and joy to finally work with Sam Raimi, who reached out to engage me on how best to do this. Beyond grateful for the experience." He has since shared a behind-the-scenes video of his return.
