Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has debuted an official Funko Pop! figure for a mysterious character who, curiously, does not appear to have been featured in any promotional material thus far.Currently available for pre-order on The Mighty Hobby Shop is a Funko Pop! bobble-head for a Marvel character named Sara, who will evidently appear in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel. While no information on Sara beyond the figure's simplified take on her appearance is available at the moment, Marvel fans certainly have some ideas as to who exactly she is.
Some theorize that the Sara depicted by the Funko Pop! is Sara Wolfe, who was a major love interest to the character Wong (played in Multiverse of Madness by Benedict Wong) in the original Marvel comic books. Others, however, postulate that this Sara is actually Sara Krowler, aka Baroness Mordo, the mother of Multiverse of Madness villain Karl Mordo (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor). Both characters have ties to the Doctor Strange mythos, meaning it could be either of them. That said, Multiverse of Madness' Sara could still potentially be a different character entirely.
At any rate, Sara Wolfe was created by the duo of Chris Claremont and Gene Colan. She first appeared in 1979's Doctor Strange #38. Meanwhile, Sara Krowler was created by Roy Thomas, R.J.M. Lofficier and Tom Sutton, first appearing in 1989's Doctor Strange, Sorcerer Supreme #6.
Directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer and Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West, in addition to the aforementioned Wong and Ejiofor as Wong and Karl Mordo, respectively. Additionally, the film stars Patrick Stewart, who will seemingly be reprising his role as Charles Xavier from 20th Century Fox's X-Men films.
"In Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before," an official synopsis for the film reads. "Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary."
