Director Scott Derrickson’s 2016 film Doctor Strange may not have been Marvel’s biggest and most lucrative film, but it was still a fan-favorite that ended up being another successful entry in a cinematic universe filled with successful films. Still, the movie managed to earn more than Ant-Man, a film that went on to generate a sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp. While Doctor Strange 2 wasn’t a certainty for a long time, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently confirmed that the sequel would be coming.

Adding fuel to the fire, Scott Derrickson later teased work on Doctor Strange 2 on his Instagram account. While the movie still isn’t officially announced, it’s widely assumed that it will be coming — and fans aren’t waiting around to theorize about what the sequel could be about.

On Reddit, a fan shared his design of a poster for Doctor Strange 2, one that brings in Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch as one of the main characters of the sequel.

After Doctor Strange, Wanda Maximoff is easily one of the most powerful members of the Avengers. There is much yet we still don’t know about the nature of her powers. While they were created by tampering with the Mind Stone, the character’s powers are based in magic in the comic books. For that reason, fans believe that Wanda would be an interesting addition to Doctor Strange 2. Furthermore, Wanda is an interesting fan-favorite character who has yet to receive a full spotlight. A starring role in the Doctor Strange sequel is something that many fans would love to see happen. Plus, it’s also something that would widen the scope of the magical side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Both characters fell victim to Thanos’ Infinity snap in Avengers: Infinity War, but it’s unlikely that we have seen the last of the Sorcerer Supreme and the Scarlet Witch. Hopefully, Doctor Strange 2 will be officially announced by Marvel — and hopefully, Elizabeth Olsen will be a part of the cast.
