Fans want to see Wanda Maximoff in a future Marvel Studios film or streaming series, and the star who last portrayed her in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness her has one suggestion to help make that happen.

"Keep spreading rumors and maybe they'll hire me again," Elizabeth Olsen said Wednesday on Good Morning America, when asked by a viewer if her character would be back.

"I would love to know myself," Olsen responded.

Wanda was last seen in the Doctor Strange sequel playing the villain in her identity as the Scarlet Witch. In the film, Wanda acquires powers from spells found in the ancient Darkhold, seeking to find a universe where Wanda's self-created twin sons Billy and Tommy still exist.

Hoping she can bring her sons over to her own universe and continue to live happily ever after as a mom, Wanda seeks to carry out her quest by controlling the powers of multiversal traveler America Chavez. But she's opposed by Doctor Strange, Chavez and Wong, and eventually realizing the monster she's become, destroys all copies of the Darkhold across the multiverse. She also seemingly destroys herself in the process.

But Wanda's death was never confirmed, and it is the multiverse after all, so her character returning in some form remains a possibility.

Previously, Wanda had concocted an idyllic but artificial life for herself by taking over the town of Westview, as seen in WandaVision on Disney+. That life included Wanda constructing simulacrums of not only the children she desired to have, but also that of Vision, who had been killed – twice, once by Wanda herself – in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War.

Wanda's fragile emotional state in part leads to the eventual crumbling of her artificial world, including the heartbreaking dissolution of "her" Vision, as well as her children. Wanda is next seen in isolation, studying the Darkhold in a remote area.

Along with her speedster brother Pietro Maximoff, Wanda was first seen briefly in the post-credits scene in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and was officially introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron the following year. Pietro was killed in that film, serving as the beginning of Wanda’s emotional breakdown. In addition to being featured in Infinity War, the character also appeared in 2019's Avengers: Endgame. Wanda's story then continued in WandaVision.

Her most recent appearance can be seen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, now streaming on Disney+.
