Doctor Sleep: Fandango Offers Early Access Screening to Horror Film

Fandango members may have access to the upcoming Stephen King adaptation Doctor Sleep over a week before its wide theatrical release and just in time for Halloween.

Members of Fandango VIP, the online ticketing service's free-to-join rewards program, can purchase tickets to screenings of The Shining sequel set for Wednesday, October 30, a full nine days ahead of its wide release on November 8. Participating theater chains for the advance screenings include AMC, Regal Cinemas, Cinemark and more. Advance screening tickets can be purchased directly through Fandango while supplies last.

Doctor Sleep, based on the King novel of the same name, follows Danny Torrance decades after the events of The Shining. As Danny copes with the traumatic experiences as a child at the Overlook Hotel, he learns a cult is hunting individuals for their psychic abilities. Danny must protect a young girl stalked by the cult and their devious leader Rose, the Hat.

The upcoming adaptation is written and directed by Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House), filmed primarily in Georgia last year.

Doctor Sleep, which centers on the adult Danny Torrance years after the traumatic events at the Overlook Hotel, stars Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson, Carl Lumbly, Alex Essoe and Zahn McClarnon. It's scheduled for release on Nov. 8.
